The Historical era in which the Sultan Abd Al-Hafeet ruled the Far Morocco is considered of great importance due to the events and changes that transformed the strategic reality of the country, as the foreign interests there increased and as those countries formed more alliances in order to seize the resources of the country. This resulted in an increase of internal disturbances and opposition to Sultan Abd Al-Hafeet's rule, which witnessed an evident rise after signing the treaty of protection in 1912. this treaty restricted the country's independence which it had enjoyed for more than 250 years.
