الملخص
يتناول هذا البحث موضوع التمثلات الرمزية لجسد المرأة الذي يسعى إلى تحليل الكيفية التي يعاد بها بناء الجسد الأنثوي باعتباره رمزا اجتماعيا وثقافيا وليس مجرد معطى بيولوجي إذ تسقِط الثقافات المختلفة على جسد المرأة منظومات دلالية متباينة ترتبط بالخصوبة، والشرف والهوية والسلطة، ومعايير الجمال، وآليات الضبط الاجتماعي, كما تبين الدراسة كيف يستثمر الجسد الأنثوي داخل الطقوس والأساطير والخطابات الدينية والإعلامية بوصفه مجالا لإعادة إنتاج القيم والمعايير السائدة. وتؤكد الأنثروبولوجيا الثقافية أن هذه التمثلات ليست ثابتة أو كونية بل هي تاريخية ومتحولة وتتأثر بعوامل بنيوية مثل السلطة الأبوية، والإرث الاستعماري، والعولمة، والتحولات الاجتماعية المعاصرة.
