The social and economic dimensions of drug abuse in societ Al Wasiti

Abstract
The problem of drug abuse is one of the most important social and economic problems facing society, not only in Iraq, but in most countries, as it causes severe harm to those who abuse it or trade in it, and these damages are reflected on the user's family and on society, directly and indirectly, and the importance of this topic for the researchers. They chose the topic as a field for research because of its effects on the Iraqi society in general and the Wasti community in particular, so the research used the descriptive approach in investigating this problem and the most important results came from the widespread use and abuse of drugs after 2003, clearly and the use of hallucinogenic pills and crystals widely among young people, the data showed Increasingly and continuously committing drug crimes, even if there is a fluctuation in rates from year to year. The most important reasons for the spread and abuse of drugs is the weakness of religious faith and insecurity.
As for the most important recommendations and proposals - developing security plans at borders, land and air ports, and relying on modern technology to curb drug smuggling - Establishing a free specialized hospital for the treatment of drug addicts in Wasit Governorate and throughout the governorates of Iraq, provided that a special section is under the supervision of the Drug Control Directorate
