Historical imagination in the novel Roots of Reeds by Riad Al-Mawla

Abstract

The general trend of historical imagination is to move from the narrative of the individual to the narrative of the group/nation, because every nation or group, when narrating its history, cannot get rid of the fabric of stories about its past and the mixing of fantasy with reality, so the self-identity moves from being personal to being narrative, and the collective self becomes the subject of the narrative. The research seeks to uncover the historical themes and their references in the novel Roots of the Reed, and to clarify their significance.
