Self-compassion and its relationship to psychological adjustment among secondary school students for the academic
Abstract
The current research aims to identify:-
1 Self –compassion among secondary school students.
2 Psychological adjustment among secondary school students
3 The correlations between self –kindness and psychological compatibility among secondary school.
To achieve the objectives of the research, the researchers adopted the self-empathy scale for (Neef ,2003) who relied on her theory and identified her six domains and the scale consisted of 26 items and each items has five graded alternatives ( applies to me always , applies to me sometimes , applies to me rarely ,doesn’t apply to me )
Building the psychological compatibility scale based on ( Carl Rogers ) theory , whose items consisted of 20 items and in front of each items three alternatives ( It always happens to me , it happens to me sometimes , it doesn’t happen to me ) The research applied the two scales to the research sample of (200) students from the secondary stage selected randomly from the research population of ( 10,968 ) students
To achieve the objectives of the research, the researchers used statically means and after analyzing the data statistically the current research reached to following results
- Secondary students have self- compassion.
- Psychological condition for the group of this research is good.
- There is a good correlation between self – compassion and psychological condition.
In the light of those result a number of suggestion and recommendation were given.
