Abstract

The phenomenon of drugs that has spread in Iraqi society in the recent period has led to the crystallization of many negative effects that have been reflected on the social, economic, and health life of the individual user. Drugs have contributed to influencing one of the most important elements of development, which is health, creating addicted individuals who are unable to communicate with others without the substance Narcotic.

As health constitutes an essential axis in human life, without it he cannot achieve progress and development in society, so that health security becomes one of the most important engines of sustainable development. Therefore, the research aims to shed light on the role of health security as one of the axes of human security in confronting the drug phenomenon, in addition to knowing the most important The social and health impacts resulting from the lack of health security for addicted individuals, and the focus on the methods and mechanisms adopted by the social service in contacting addicts through its roles (preventive, curative, and developmental) to crystallize their health security.

To achieve the goals, the descriptive analytical approach was relied upon to analyze drug indicators and their impact on health security in Iraqi society.
