The spread of drugs among young people in Iraqi society Exploratory study

Abstract
In this study, we are trying to shed light on the drug phenomenon that has begun to spread in Iraqi society, especially among the youth group. This exploratory study sought to identify the truth about young people’s tendency towards drug use or addiction, and to reveal the reasons for drug abuse and addiction among young people. A deliberate sample was selected for the study within the city limits of Baghdad, consisting of (577) individuals. The study arrived at a set of results and recommendations directed to the official authorities concerned with the issue of drugs, such as the Ministry of Interior and the Ministries of Health, Education, Labor and Social Affairs.
