The concept of religion in the philosophy of William Games ;A study in Pragmatic Religion

Abstract
The issue of religion has occupied great importance in philosophy in general and contemporary philosophy in particular, especially among the founders of the pragmatist approach, and in particular William James. He believes that religion is a personal religion and not a metaphysical religion as is commonly known. When he talks about religion from a pragmatic, utilitarian perspective, we find it different from religion as perceived by the philosophers who preceded him, because religion, according to James, is a religion of belief, will, and psychology, and the reason for his study of religion is that he is exposed to a psychological crisis. The religious experience helped him recover from that crisis. The religious experience was of great importance to him, so he devoted a book entitled The Diversity of Religious Experience, in which he presented his religious ideas, holiness, and its characteristics
