Self-worth and its relationship to Mindfulness And Social intelligence among University students

Abstract

The current research aimed to identify self-worth and its relationship to mental alertness and social intelligence among university students. The research sample consisted of (262) male and female students from the College of Education/Al-Mustansiriya University/Department of Psychological Counseling and Educational Guidance. The adopted measures which were applied are as follows: Self-worth according to (Crocker et al, 2001,(and its number of items is 29 items, and the reliability index reached (0.758), and the Mindfulness scale of (Abdullah, 2013) and its number of items is 27 items, and the reliability index reached (0.766), and the social intelligence scale of (Silvera, et, al, 2021, and its number of items is 20 items, and its reliability index reached (0.789), and using the Pearson correlation coefficient and the t-test, the results showed: The sample members of university students enjoyed self-worth, Mindfulness, social intelligence, and there was a significant positive correlation. Statistically between: the variables of self-worth and Mindfulness, and the variables of Mindfulness and social intelligence, and a statistically significant negative correlation between the variables of self-worth and social intelligence, and the reached some recommendations and suggestions for further research.
