Abstract
This research studies the city of Tennis through the writings of geographers and travelers, and ever since its foundation by Andalusian sailors in the year 262 AH (875DH ). It has witnessed great development in all fields, As for its role as a connective port between the inland cities of the middle Maghreb.
Especially when we speak about the commercial exchanges with Andalusian cities, After that it witnessed a development of urban construction in ordre to maintain stability in the trade andmerchants, And so, it progressed and became a magnet to several tribes such as the tribes of Souk Ibrahim and Maghraoua which made it oneof the greatest cities on the Mediterranean coast.
As time passed, travelers and geographers became more and more interested in it due to its geographical location in the middle west in particular and Islamic west in general. As a result to all those factors, historical resources gave us details about different domains, Including the social, political, economical and constructional life historical resources this information are priceless for a researcher in history and archaeology
