Abstract

The Arabian Gulf region was and still is one of the main and important regions in international politics, and it is considered one of the first regions towards which the European colonial powers turned their attention, after arriving in India following the process of geographical discoveries initiated by Portugal, followed by the major European countries and powers, represented by the East India companies,and as soon as the Portuguese arrived in India, they began to lead their campaigns against the Arab navigator and sailors and to control Hormuz, the strategic port and the gateway to the Arabian Gulf, their goal was to control the waters of the Arabian Gulf and the Red Sea, and control the important waterways, as the Arab Gulf witnessed the competition of European powers among themselves, represented by the Portuguese colonialism first, then the Dutch, the English and the French later
