Abstract
The Sino-American relationship was during the 1970s and during the Cold War strategic partnership aimed primarily at containing the Soviet Union, The rival power of the United States of America during the Cold War, and at the time the United States of America was its main opponent, the Soviet Union. It was able to formally establish diplomatic relations with China on December 15, 1978, followed by Chinese Deputy Prime Minister Deng Xiaoping's historic visit to the United States in early January 1979, which led to increased trade and cultural trade and intelligence exchange between the two countries. The U.S. administration also approved the sale of U.S. military sales to China. The research was divided into three axes. The first dealt with the new US administration's orientations towards China in 1977, while the second dealt with the normalization of US-Chinese relations during 1978, and the third with the course of US-Chinese relations after normalization 1979-1980
