Measuring the impact of the use of Electronic information sources in the field of scientific research by faculty members (Arts college A university of Mosul- A Model
Abstract
The study aims to study the measurement of the impact of using electronic information sources by simple regression by faculty members of the College of Arts at the University of Mosul in the field of scientific research in terms of its concept, advantages and disadvantages, motivating factors for its use, importance and divisions. The study followed the descriptive analytical approach to analyze the study sample and used the questionnaire form to collect data, as the study community included professors of departments in the College of Arts consisting of (341) lecturers. The researcher took a proportional stratified sample from the members of the original community at a rate of (53%) of the total community size to be a sample of (181) lecturers.
The study reached a number of results, the most important of which are:
1- The results showed that the vast majority of instructors use electronic information sources, reaching 96.1%, indicating a great reliance on these sources in research and education.
2- It was found that the Arabic language is the most used at 86.2%, followed by the English language at 74.7%, reflecting the importance of the two languages in academic research, while other languages are used at a lower rate.
The study came out with a set of proposals, the most important of which were:
1- The need to increase the Arabic content in electronic databases to help researchers who face the language problem
2-Providing training courses to enhance the skills of searching and effective retrieval of electronic information
