Main Article Content
Abstract
The study's problem was summarized in the main question: (To what extent does the press image reflect information perception among mobile journalism users?) To answer this question, several questions branched out to reach the main objective, which is to determine the extent to which the press image reflects information perception among mobile journalism users. There are sub-objectives that can be summarized as follows:
1. To reveal the relationship between the methods of presenting the press image and the perception of mobile journalism users.
2. To identify the factors influencing perception among mobile journalism users.
3. To identify users' benefit from the representation of information through the press image.
4. To investigate the forms of interaction of the respondents with the press image.
5. To identify the nature of the topics that the press image addresses.
The study relied on a survey approach, specifically a sample survey for the field study, employing a questionnaire and scale as a tool. The researcher used a deliberate, intentional sample represented by Iraqi media professionals working in various media institutions.
The study reached a number of conclusions, including:
1. The importance of enhancing reports and topics with journalistic images, given their ability to develop and improve perception among recipients (individuals).
2. The formal characteristics of journalistic images influence the cognitive process, as do the characteristics of the cognitive content contained in the journalistic image.
3. Journalistic images provide assistance to respondents in understanding information and topics in a short time compared to narrative (textual) topics.
