Abstract
The study aims to examine the events that have impacted Iraq since the arrival of the Americans after 2003, and their effect on Iraqi society across all its segments, including poets with nationalistic sentiments who employed their poetry to serve the country and promote national unity. This was done through their sense of responsibility towards their homeland, Iraq, after it suffered disasters and miseries due to the brutal American invasion. This formed the core of my research study, in addition to the reasons behind the fragmentation of national unity and ways to address it, in order to identify the root cause before finding a solution.
