The effect of cartoons on transforming the mental image into a Stereotype in children (Theoretical study)
Main Article Content
Abstract
The current research aims to identify how to transform the mental image through children watching cartoons into a stereotype. When a child watches cartoons, his thinking is still intuitive at this stage (based on subjective judgments), and his cognitive plans are on their way to being organized in the brain. The mental perceptions received from the outside world can be transformed into a stereotype, whether positive or negative, to reach a state of integration and balance. Here lies the problem if this negative mental image that he received cannot be easily changed, but rather it turns into a fixed lifestyle and will affect his way of speaking, choosing his clothes, walking, and haircut, and this goes beyond that to acquiring behavior, including aggressive behavior, which later negatively affects the personality of children, and its effect on language acquisition skills, cognitive and social development, and diseases that affect children when watching early in life, including autism spectrum disorder.
