Abstract

his study explores the impact of digital transformations on social capital, focusing on the opportunities provided by technology to strengthen social ties, and the challenges arising from digital deviance such as digital addiction, intellectual and behavioral deviations, and shifts in identity and belonging. Findings indicate that digital transformation enhances bridging social capital through virtual networks and interest-based communities but may reduce bonding social capital if digital interactions are not responsibly managed. Digital deviance also affects human capital, education quality, and innovation. The study recommends promoting digital literacy, developing policies and regulations, and encouraging responsible innovation to ensure a sustainable digital society.
