The impact of watching short videos (Reels) on attention span and academic performance
Main Article Content
Abstract
The current research aims at identifying the effect of watching Reels on attention span and academic performance among university students. To achieve these goals, the researcher has developed two scales. The first one for measuring the attention span while the second one for measuring the academic performance. Both of them consist of (20) items with continuum of five alternatives for answering. Validity and Reliability have been computed for both scales. The results indicate that spending more than two hours in watching Reels has impact on decreasing attention span. For academic performance the results have indicated that increasing the time of watching Reels has negative impact on academic performance of students. The research has shown several recommendations and suggestions.
