Abstract

This research aims to determine the level of spiritual intelligence among government employees and to understand the difference in spiritual intelligence based on gender between male and female. The research also covers the difference in spiritual intelligence and its various aspects based on employment hierarchy and hierarchy; and finally it outlines the level of education level and academic achievement between those with bachelor degree and higher. The current study focuses in the spiritual intelligence among employees of college of Arts in Al-Mustansiriyah University in 2017.To achieve the goals of the research, the researcher has translated the Spiritual Intelligence self-report inventory (SISRI-24), reconditioning it to accommodate Iraqi environment, comprising in its last form of 24 items divided between 4 factors: 1- Critical Existential Thinking 2- Personal Meaning Production 3- Transcendental Awareness 4- Conscious State Expansion, and applying them to the sample which was statistically analyzed to extract its deferential power. The validity of the scale was also calculated by extracting (comparing) the relation of the item's score  with the overall  factor's score of the scale and its correlation to the overall scale's score. The consistency was extracted with the two methods, the split half method and Cronbach's alpha. Then the scale has been applied to the sample of the study which was consisted of 100 employees in college of Arts, Al-Mustansiriyah University. The study has reached several conclusions including the following: the individuals of the sample enjoy Spiritual Intelligence with all its four core factors; and the there was no difference between male and female employees with the exception of Personal Meaning Production, where the result was in favor of male employees. As to the difference in the level of education, those with higher education degree scored higher results; same conclusion was noted with employment hierarchywhere the difference was in favor of managers and leaders in all aspects. Based on those results, the researcher presented a number of recommendations as well as suggestions for future studies.
