Abstract

This research addresses the theme of war based on the representation of its horror in the novel of the Invisible Land. This novel, published in 2019, describes the painful experience of a war photographer, witnessing with his camera a terrible conflict which ended with the defeat of the Nazis in 1945 by the Allies during the Second World War. the essential idea of the research is to analyze the way in which a novel describes the horror of war.


In this research objectives,  we use analytical method to prove why this photographer is the narrator of the novel and its main character. Having necessarily witnessed the spectacle of deaths on the roads, he made his decision to cross Germany with the company of an English soldier. The two set off to photograph the normal people of this people who turned their backs on the atrocities of this war.


Through this quest for the reality of his characters, the author provides clear evidence to denounce wars. Hubert Mingarelli undertook to explain to us that in any conflict each of the combatants has their own share of guilt. This novel appears as an objection to the absurdity of wars and its violence.  For this reason, the novelist Hubert Mingarelli presents an atrocious vision of the war which ravages and kills peoples.
