Abstract

The research entitled « The characteristics of the poem in prose » aims at highlighting the most characteristic features of this type of poems. It is considered one of the transformed forms in poetry. It is based on cultural and artistic values different from the values on which versified poetry is based, especially when most of these who disagree with this type of poetry are convinced with traditional and artistic origins and values. They consider them as absolute ones to be imposed on poetry that is characterized by dynamism and unlimited ness.

The present research highlights some of features and ethics of the poem in prose, through answering the following questions:

  • Why is this new form of poetry?
  • What are the differences between the poem in prose and other types of poetry?
  • Does the poem in prose reject the traditional poetry?
  • What are the characteristic features that enable us to identify a certain text as poetry?
