Abstract

For a long time, the media has employed its various means in confronting crises, and it stands at the forefront of the scattered ranks in crises, crises in traditional wars, conveying images of battles, and in psychological wars the tip of the spear, and it is also in the rest of the types of crises and challenges, as different countries have assigned tasks to the media stipulated in Its pre-planned crises, and nowadays the challenges in front of the media are more complex, Despite the development of the means of communication, the challenges are steadily increasing, and among the challenges we face today are political crises. Today, the media stands in the first line to confront those crises, but its mission is different from them, as the media adopt the task of awareness and education. against those crises arising as a result of various circumstances, In our research, we will address one of the most important and oldest media, represented by the Iraqi press, to determine the extent of the benefit achieved from investing this medium in promoting awareness and forming public attitudes towards various crises the country is going through.The researcher aims to achieve a number of goals, the most important of which are revealing the public's benefit from information about crises, and the public's evaluation of the information published by Iraqi newspapers regarding these crises, and other goals.The researcher reached a number of results, including:1. The great and clear interest of the respondents in following up on political crises.2. The respondents' preference for news among the journalistic arts used in presenting information published in newspapers on crises.3. The results of the research showed the contribution of newspapers in shaping the respondents' attitudes towards crises.
