Abstract

The current research aims to identify the relationship of imbalances (psychological, social, economic, political) marginalization and their repercussions on abuse and addiction behavior, and we used the descriptive approach in describing the phenomenon of addiction based on data made by a group of respondents amounting to (10) cases interviewed at Bin Rushd Psychiatric Hospital in Baghdad. The most important results were:

- The marginalization of young people, preoccupation with them and lack of attention to them and their needs and problems are all factors that have led many of them to abusing and addictive behaviour.

- Addictive behaviour is legitimate among addicts, and this legitimacy reflects social marginalization.

- The weakness of the social and educational control system in Iraqi society is a serious indicator caused by imbalances at all psychological, social, economic and political levels as a result of a sense of marginalization
