Mohamed Fouad Shukri His Diplomatic and Intellectual Role in Egypt 1906-1963
Main Article Content
Abstract
Mohamed Fouad Shoukry is a prominent Egyptian historian and thinker who has left a wide impact on the field of historical and political studies in Egypt and the Arab world, has held academic and diplomatic positions, and has dedicated his life to researching issues of national liberation and Arab unity and Egypt's modern history, with his scientific rigor and reliance on original documents and sources in his writings, which have become essential references for students of modern and contemporary history. The problem that I will try to explain in this research is how Mohamed Fouad Shoukry was able to maintain his position throughout a quarter of a century of teaching and whether his personal qualities prevented him from doing so, what the impact of his work was on his writings, and what his role was in the cause of Libya's independence, in addition to an analysis of his historical writings. The hypothesis that we will discuss in this research is that Mohamed Fouad Shoukry combined thought and diplomatic work and was able through his academic position to contribute to the formulation of the trends of Egyptian national thought and diplomacy on this subject, in addition to his intellectual efforts that complemented his work in the diplomatic corps. Keywords: Mohamed Fouad Shoukry, Diplomatic Role, Italian Occupation, Independence of Libya, His Writings.
