The Role of Digital Public Relations in Managing Iraqi Political Crises: A field study
Main Article Content
Abstract
The main objective of present research is to determine the role of digital public relations in managing Iraqi political crises. It also attempts to discuss the communication strategies and methods used to address these situations. This study focused on a specific sample of 120 individuals working in the Public Relations Department of the Iraqi Council of Representatives from June 1 to July 31, 2025 AD. The research revealed that the media or news approach was the most useful strategy for handling digital public relations in the Iraqi political crisis, followed by the persuasive approach. The organization's website was the most popular digital platform for crisis management, followed by social media. A significant correlation was also observed between the degree of interest digital public relations professionals had in handling the Iraqi political crisis and their attitudes toward it. In addition, there were statistically significant differences in the respondents’ attitudes towards the Iraqi political crises according to the type of strategy used in crisis management, in favor of the (media or news) strategy, and the demographic characteristics of the respondents, with the exception of the variables (age and educational level).
